In the drivers' words:

Will Davison:

"First of all just a great result for the team to have us both in the top five," Davison said.

"It hasn't been the easiest weekend so it was it was good to work with Brodie there on track. He had a little bit more speed early on, so I sort of let him through to try and have a crack for the podium and then I was under under the pump, pushing really, really hard.

"Then mid-race, the car got a little bit better, which was a relief, so I was able to withstand a fair bit of pressure and then get in amongst a pretty exciting last lap.

"So all in all, a really positive day. We've definitely still got some things we need to fix, but yeah, the team has done a great job and we're really starting to gel and get the car feeling really nice."

Brodie Kostecki:

"Starting in 10th place, I really didn't know where we were going to end up, so to finish fifth and also know we were on for a podium up until the last corner was a positive," Kostecki said.

"It was just really close racing - the car felt pretty strong so I feel like we got a bit of a direction.

"We'll see what tomorrow brings, but it looks like it could be pretty wet.

"We're starting from 14th tomorrow, so a bit deep in the pack, but we'll give it a crack."
