UNPREDICTABLE DAY OF RACING FOR DAY 2 OF THE MELBOURNE SUPERSPRINT
Anton De Pasquale – No. 11 Shell V-Power Racing Ford Mustang GT
Race 4 – 5th (Fastest Time: 1m49.6858s)
Will Davison – No. 17 Shell V-Power Racing Ford Mustang GT
Race 4 – 11th (Fastest Time: 1m49.1007s)
An event-filled Race 4 at Albert Park today, saw Anton De Pasquale finish P5 and Will Davison finished P11 after post race penalties across the grid. The unpredictable race saw a delayed start time, the use of a flag due to start light failure, and then for a second day in a row, it was declared a 'wet race' after a sprinkle of rain. Following two safety cars and time restrictions, drivers just made the halfway mark, completing only 8-laps of the once 15-lap race.
An honest Will Davison (Racing Veteran) shared his frustrations saying:
W. DAVISON QUOTE
"Finishing today very disappointed, it was a non-race as far as I’m concerned. That's now two days in a row that they’ve declared it a wet race when it’s not wet, which ultimately creates loopholes in the rules. So, again we’re on the wrong side of strategy which is a shame because we had a great opportunity for results today. So, unfortunately, I’m just leaving today very frustrated.”
While Anton De Pasquale looks ahead to tomorrow:
DE PASQUALE QUOTE
"Day two here at the Grand Prix, one shortened race for us but one pretty entertaining race from the sidelines I imagine. There was a heap going on, a lot happened in a short period of time – we made our way forward a fair few positions which is good. So, I look forward to tomorrow."
