The Formula Ford Association is proud to announce a partnership with Dick Johnson Racing (DJR) that will see the 2021 Australian Formula Ford Championship winner earn a test drive in a Shell V-Power Racing Team Ford Mustang GT Supercar.

Formula Ford has long been a steppingstone for many drivers who now compete in the Repco Supercars Championship, including current Shell V-Power Racing Team drivers Anton De Pasquale and Will Davison.

“It’s important to recognise and foster development pathways in Australian motorsport, and to that end, we are delighted to support the Formula Ford Association,” said Chairman and CEO of DJR Ryan Story.

“Formula Ford has always been a great development ground for drivers, and we look forward to supporting the Championship throughout the 2021 season.”

Every Supercars championship winner since 2003, as well as over three-quarters of the current Supercars field, has raced Formula Ford at some point in their motorsport career.

Formula Ford Administrator Phil Marrinon said, “We are excited and thankful for this very generous offer from DJR that will no doubt be an even greater incentive to all our competing drivers in this year’s series”.

The test drive will occur at Queensland Raceway early in 2022.

The next round of 2021 Australian Formula Ford Championship will be contested at Wakefield Park Raceway on 22-23 May.
